Mental Health First Aid Training

Standard MHFA

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to: 

  • Recognise signs and symptoms of mental health problems in adults
  • Use an evidence-based action plan to initiate a mental health first aid conversation
  • Recognise barriers to seeking help and how to overcome them
  • Assess for crisis situations and provide initial support
  • Understand prevalence and impact of mental illnesses, risk factors, treatments and supports available


DELIVERY

This 12-hour course is delivered:

  • Face-to-face:
  • over 2 consecutive days (2 x 6-hour sessions)
  • (6-12 Participants)


SUITABILITY

Adults (aged 18+)


ACCREDITATION

You can complete the short assessment at the end of a course to become an Accredited Mental Health First Aider (MHFAider). Accreditations are valid for 3 years.

    Yes.  Emily is available to deliver Standard Mental Health First Aid Training anywhere in Australia.  Trainer travel & accommodation incurs an additional cost.

  • How long does the Standard Mental Health First Aid Course run for?

    The course is 12 hours face-to-face training, delivered over two consecutive days.  As a guide, times are typically 9am - 4pm both days.
